How to Measure Your Sweater Size (Simple Fit Guide)

Buying knitwear online is easy when you measure correctly. You only need a soft tape and one sweater that fits you well.

Use a sweater you love

Lay a well-fitting sweater flat and measure it, rather than measuring your body — it accounts for the fit you actually like.

The four key measurements

Chest: armpit to armpit, doubled. Length: top of the shoulder to hem. Sleeve: shoulder seam to cuff. Shoulder: seam to seam across the back.

Compare to the size chart

Match your numbers to the product's size guide. If you're between sizes, size up for a relaxed fit or down for a slim look.

Every product page includes a size chart — browse men and women to find your fit.

FAQ

How do I measure my sweater size?

Lay a sweater that fits you flat and measure chest width (armpit to armpit), body length, and sleeve length, then compare to the size chart.

Should I size up in a sweater?

Only if you want a relaxed or layering fit. For a clean look, choose your true size so it skims rather than drowns you.

ZHILIFS size system

Our knitwear follows the Chinese GB height/chest sizing used by our factory in Chongqing. Read it as height / chest in centimetres:

  • 170/88A = M
  • 175/92A = L
  • 180/96A = XL
  • 185/100A = 2XL
  • 190/104A = 3XL
  • 190/108B = 4XL
  • 195/112B = 5XL

So if you are 180 cm with a 96 cm chest, XL is your size in our range. Every product page also lists measured shoulder, chest, sleeve and body length in centimetres for each size — use those if you are between sizes.
